My last trip to ‘the river’ had unexpected results. A week of planning and pre-packing did not help in the last minute shuffle of fishing/camping equipment from pick-up to boat. Once up river, I discovered I had everything but my rod. Seemed a fishing faux-pax to borrow the only one available, so I spent two days observing the river and canyon. I took the time to watch the ducks, geese, heron, toads and insects. I got some amazing pictures of dragonflies and damsels. I followed the tracks of lizards, and other unknown creatures, and added to the growing collection of interesting and heavy but not so valuable rocks. I guess I’m just reminding everyone that “trout do live in beautiful places” and we need to take the time to enjoy what is beside and above the water as well as what is in the river. Tresa
